Mary Johnson
LILBOURN, Mo. — Mary Louise McIntosh Johnson passed away at her home in Lilbourn on Oct. 8, 2018, at the age of 80 years.
She was born Sept. 28, 1938, at Catron, to the late Wesley Ervin “Bud” and Myrtle Louise McIntosh,
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Lee; brothers Ray McIntosh, Kenneth McIntosh, Wesley Ervin “Mac” McIntosh, Leon Herrin, Anthony “Tony” McIntosh; and granddaughter, Mary Katherine Reece.
Her husband, Kenny Johnson, survives of the home.
Mary worked for Kaiser Engineering and Noranda Aluminum until her retirement. She was an active alumnus of Lilbourn High School. She was a founding member and President of the Lilbourn Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and was active in the Regional VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She devoted her time to the needs of ailing children with Make a Wish Foundation and the Kenny Rogers Children’s Center and Sikeston Area Humane Society.
Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Charlene Reece of Parma and Dr. Scott and Cindy Reece of Ringgold, Ga.; stepson and daughter-in-law Col. Michael and Monique Johnson of Pensacola, Fla.; stepdaughter and son-in-law Lisa Dawn and Raymond Felton of New Madrid; two sisters, Stella Buck of Dexter and Martha Miller of Parma; and nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Thursday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid with the Rev. Tom Cantrell officiating.
Burial followed in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
