Born March 5, 1932, in Wyatt, daughter of the late Henry and Lovey Douglas Treadwell Sr., she was a longtime member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Wyatt. CHARLESTON, Mo. — Gerline Mims, 86, died Oct. 8, 2018, at her home.

Born March 5, 1932, in Wyatt, daughter of the late Henry and Lovey Douglas Treadwell Sr., she was a longtime member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Wyatt. She had been employed by several area restaurants as a full-menu cook and a grill cook, including Farmers Kitchen, Reeves Boomland and Home Oil.

In 1951, she married William Thomas Greer, who preceded her in death in 1997. She later married Walter Mims, and he preceded her in death in 2011.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Treadwell, Earnest Treadwell and Henry Treadwell; one sister, Willie Mae Parker; two sons, Thomas Greer and Melvin Greer; one daughter, Marilyn Greer; and two granddaughters.

Survivors include: three sons, Dennis Michael Greer of Caruthersville, Freddie (Essie B.)Greer, and Jimmie Lee (Teresa) Greer Sr. of Wilson City; six daughters, Shirley Lindell, Delores Bogan and Corene Greer of Charleston, Etta Greer of Wilson City, Patricia (Dennis Lane) Greer of Chicago and Lovey Greer of Lansing, Mich.; three sisters, Juanita Jefferson, Vernice Ivy and Dorothy Coleman of Charleston; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service time at noon Saturday at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Wyatt with Elvin Greer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
