Galang, Williams are Students of the Month for October

SHS/SPS Foundation Students of the Month-October are: Spencer Williams, SPS Foundation Director Lauren DeWitt and Giselle Galang.

SIKESTON — Giselle Galang and Spencer Williams were named Sikeston High School Students of the Month for October.

Sikeston Public Schools Foundation, which sponsors the monthly program, names two seniors each month for the honor during the 2018-2019 school year.

Galang is the daughter of Roy and Daisy Galang. She serves as Red Pepper Cayenne, senior class treasurer and representative, DECA president and leadership delegate, Junior Optimist Club reporter and National Honor Society service project coordinator. She’s also active in FCA, FBLA, Link Crew and Key Club. She spends her spare time with her friends and family, at church, sleeping or watching Netflix.

Williams, who is the son of Jeff and Kristi Williams, is active in the Junior Optimist Club, National Honor Society, Model United Nations, Teens Against Pollution. He noted he is currently not an athlete. In his spare time, he enjoys giving blood through the Red Cross as well as participating in numerous volunteer organizations. His favorite hobby is sport shooting, and he plans to compete as soon as the opportunity arises. He also said he likes learning about languages that pique his interest.
