Sikeston man jailed after shooting wife in the neck

BENTON, Mo. — A Sikeston man is in jail after shooting his wife in a domestic assault Sunday evening.

According to Scott County Sheriff Wes Drury, Timothy L. Foust, 50, is charged with a Class A felony of domestic assault, first degree; Class A felony of armed criminal action and a Class A felony of unlawful use of a weapon.

Drury said that Sunday at about 6 p.m., deputies with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Missouri Delta Medical Center in reference to a gunshot victim. The victim stated she was shot by her husband and that it occurred outside the residence of 202 Sherrie in Sikeston. The victim sustained one gunshot wound to her neck and is currently in stable

Deputies responded to 202 Sherrie and processed the scene and also collected several spent bullets from inside the victim’s vehicle. Foust was located and arrested in St. Peters, Mo.

Foust is currently being held in the Scott County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.

Drury thanked the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, Missouri Highway Patrol and the St. Peters Police Department for help with the incident.
