Sikeston man injured after being shot in the knee

SIKESTON — A Sikeston woman faces felony charges after shooting and injuring a man over the weekend.
Kiara Jenee Allen is charged with three felonies: first degree domestic assault causing serious injury, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon, according to online court records.
According to Sikeston Department of Public Safety, at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday officers responded to the 300 block of Sunset Drive in reference to a man who was shot in the left knee. Allen, who is reportedly the mother of the man’s child, was arrested. The victim was taken to an area hospital and later to a Cape Girardeau hospital for his injuries.
Allen’s bond was set at $10,000, and she posted bond.
