Race Develops for Portageville Mayor

Filings for the April Municipal Election opened Tuesday, Dec. 11, and a race immediately developed in Portageville. A two-man race for mayor has emerged.

Denis McCrate is seeking his third two

-year term as Portageville mayor. Vince Berry, a current Ward II Alderman has also filed.

The two campaigned against each other previously for the same seat.

Incumbents Lynn Doering and Ray Staffey are currently unopposed for Ward I and Ward II aldermen.

Filing ends Tuesday, January 15, 2019.
