Albert Holmes

SIKESTON — Albert Ray Holmes, 86, died Dec. 27, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was born April 28, 1932, in Sandy Ridge, Ark., to the late William Henry and Cordie Lovelace Holmes.

On Aug. 12, 1983, in Benton, Ky., he married Joyce Johnson Holmes, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Allen Holmes of Hobart, Ind., and Randy and Melissa Briggs of Sikeston; three daughters and one son-in-law, Pam Holmes of Cape Girardeau, Lisa Kelly of Lake Ozark, Mo., and Deborah and Larry Jacobs Jr. of Liberty, Texas; three brothers, Donald Holmes of Sikeston, Dewey Holmes of Bloomfield, Mo., and J.W. Holmes of Calvert City, Ky.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Holmes and one sister, Claire Williams.

Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Amos Johnson and Steve Vester, officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Pallbearers will be: Kevin Roslen, Pete Hendry, Justin Johnson, Keith Kirk, Billy Davis and Alec Holmes.
