John Sailors

SIKESTON - John Sailors, 71, died Dec. 27, 2018, at his home in Sikeston.

Born July 19, 1947 in Cape Girardeau to the late Rufus Lynn Sailors and Ruby Higgs Sailors Lindsey., he was a member of the Baptist faith, had served in the U.S. National Guard, was a 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of Sikeston Masonic Lodge #310 AF&AM, a member of SEMO Shrine Club of which he was past president, and a member of Sikeston Elks BPOE #2319 of which he had been secretary and Bingo chairman for many years.

On April 1, 1995, he married Brenda Southard Stallings, she survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three sons, Berry ‘Petey’ Sailors and John Sailors Jr. both of Sikeston and Homer Lee Quad Stallings IV of East Prairie; two daughters, Beth Lynn Sailors of St. Charles and Leslie LeAnne Stallings of Sikeston; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday at 5 p.m. until time of Masonic Rites at 7 p.m. which will followed by a memorial service at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
