SIKESTON — Jeromy Jermaine “J.J.” Hunt Sr., 39, died Dec. 30, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born April 11, 1979, in Sikeston, son of Rita Hunt-Savage of Sikeston, he was a graduate of Sikeston Public Schools’ class of 1997. J.J. was a member of Green Memorial Church of God in Christ where he was a former member of Green Memorial’s Purity Class. He was one of the best in doing bible drills. J.J. was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, and he never met a stranger. He was known to be funny and loved to make you laugh. He also loved cooking and was the cook for “The Last Day of School Give-A-Way” that is sponsored by his mother. He loved his mother, his children, his wife and his family, but his greatest love was God. J.J. made a huge impact on many people and will be greatly missed and certainly never forgotten.

On Sept. 16, 2017, he married Carris Henderson, who survives of the home.

In addition to his mother, Rita Hunt-Savage, and his wife, Carris Hunt, he is survived by four sons, Jeromy Jermaine Hunt Jr. and Jer’Don Hunt of Eudora, Ark., and Jermaine Hunt and Maragus Hubbard of Sikeston; four daughters, Je’Lyric Hunt and Ma’Jesilyn Hunt of Sikeston, Jerikah Hunt of Eudora and Princess Kay Looney of Kansas City; six brothers, Elgin (Tyesha) Hunt, Dion (Nesha) Savage and Alvin Hinds of Sikeston, Missouri, Brandon (Nena) Williams of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Ralpheal (Tosha) Boyd of Texas and Frederick Savage of St. Louis; three sisters, Vonda Dixon of Sikeston, Vivian Dixon of Cape Girardeau and Pam Savage of Tennessee; his godparents, Tyrone and Stafita Price; three special nephews, Rashon, Emarious and Elgin Jr.; his Goddaughter, Willa; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Inez Hunt; and stepfather, Willie Savage Jr.

Friends may call Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, from 11:07 a.m. until the funeral hour of 12:07 p.m. at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston with Charlie Green III, pastor, eulogizing, and Elder Timothy Randle, officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
