Anna, Ill., woman dies in weekend crash in New Madrid County

NEW MADRID, Mo. — An Illinois woman died, and another person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday in New Madrid County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 1:30 a.m. on northbound Interstate 55 at the 55-mile marker, as the northbound vehicle driven by Igor S. Haidai, 59, of St. Petersburg, Fla., was struck in the rear by the northbound vehicle driven by Travis K. Ford, 40, of Thebes, Ill.

Ford’s passenger, Tianna E. Ford, 22, of Anna, Ill., was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:35 a.m. by Chief Deputy Coroner Ralph Barnwell, and she was taken to the New Madrid County Morgue.

Travis Ford received serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to a St. Louis hospital.
