Vic Hairston

MATTHEWS, Mo. — Thomas Victor "Vic" Hairston, 64, died Feb. 4, 2019, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. 

Born May 2, 1954, in St. Louis, son of the late Thomas and Alice Mason Hairston, he had lived around the Sikeston area for the past 40 years, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a salesman at Heartland Office Supply. 

On Aug. 27, 1976, in Sikeston, he married Caryl Joyce, and she survives of the home. 

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Josh and Meghan Hairston of Jackson, Miss., and Mitch and Amanda Hairston of Sikeston; one sister, Sue Sauceda, of Oran; and five grandchildren, Emily, Jordan, Holly, Steadman and Evelyn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Timothy Mark Hairston. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Monday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. 

Graveside rites with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
