SIKESTON — The Sikeston Kindergarten and Early Childhood Center and Parents as Teachers program will have its annual preschool screening Feb. 19-22 at the Sikeston Kindergarten Center.
All children ages birth through 4 years who live in the Sikeston R-6 School District are welcome to attend the free screening. The hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday.
Parents and guardians can find out their child’s potential and how they are doing on their milestones. The screening will check vision, dental, hearing, speech and developmental areas. Parents and guardians must bring their child’s immunization record to the screening.
This screening also determines who will attend the 4-year-old Early Childhood Program in the 2019-2020 school year. Children must be screened in order to attend the preschool.
Children who will be 5 years old by July 31 will be eligible for kindergarten in the fall; kindergarten enrollment will be in April.
