Patrol seeks person of interest in fatal hit-and-run crash

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop E in Poplar Bluff is requesting the assistance of the public for any information pertaining to a fatal hit and run crash.

The crash occurred at 7:39 p.m. Feb. 4 on Missouri Highway 53, approximately three miles south of Poplar Bluff, according to Sgt. Clark D. Parrott with the Patrol.

The preliminary investigation and evidence at the scene indicates a pedestrian was walking on the southbound shoulder and was struck by a northbound, white 1999 Oldsmobile Alero. Video surveillance from a local business close to the crash scene is being reviewed and a person of interest has been identified as Zack L. Davis.
