EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Dr. Albert Weaver, 94, died March 22, 2019, at the Bertrand Nursing Center.

Born Aug. 10, 1924, in East Prairie, son of the late Leonard and Earlene Martin Weaver, he lived most of his life in East Prairie, where he graduated and then joined the United States Navy and served during World War II. After his time in the service, he attended the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. In 1957, he attended to Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and then went on to do an internship from 1961-1962 in Kirksville before returning to East Prairie, where he practiced medicine from 1962-1999. He was a member of First Christian Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, elder and deacon. He served on the City Council for many years and was also mayor. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years.

On May 29, 1961, he married Pearl Blair, who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Wanda Weaver of Ledbetter, Texas, Gregory and Karen Weaver of Martin, Ga. and Kevin Weaver of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Jack Wimp of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

One brother, Roy Howlett, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church in East Prairie with Martin Lucas and Nathan Claycomb officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park at East Prairie with Shelby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be: Larry Britt, Bill Munger, Dan Forkum, Chris Britt, Harold Johnson and Mickey Lay.
