POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Helen Rosalea Menees Evans, 84, died March 18, 2019, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born July 28, 1934, in Lilbourn, daughter of the late Arthur Menees and Hattie Adams Christopher, she worked as a hairdresser and bank teller. She was a member of Spoonerville Baptist Church.
On July 20, 1950, she married Alton “Dale” Evans, who preceded her in death on July 24, 2007.
Her daughter, Denise Evans, preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 2005. Her stepfather, who helped to raise her, Louis Christopher, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one sister, Louise Hutchins of New Madrid; two half brothers, Wayne Menees of Sikeston and Ralph Menees of Missouri; and two nieces, Sheila Hornback and her husband Rick of Sikeston and Susan Milisits and her husband John of New Madrid.
Services were held Friday at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden. Richard Blagg officiated and was assisted by Larry Keith Landers.
Burial followed in the Rosewood First Addition Cemetery at Malden.
