YUMA, Ariz. — Alvin Monroe “Pod” Ashley, 69, died March 24, 2019, in Arizona.

Born Dec. 26, 1949, son of the late James Lewis and Opal Ruth Williams Ashley, he was a graduate of Charleston, Mo., High School class of 1967. He attended Southeast Missouri Start University before entering the United States Air Force and serving until his retirement in 1992.

On Oct. 21,1995, he married Tina Morgan, who survives of Yuma.

Other survivors include: three sons, Matthew Ashley, Robbie Robinette and Tony Robinette; two daughters, Liza Ashley and Charlotte Green; one brother James E. Ashley; two sisters, Sharon F. Breuer and Tracy Leigh Pendergrass; and nine grandchildren several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Harvey. 

Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at Arlington, Va.

McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
