POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Louis Dean Borders, 83, died March 24, 2019, at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.
Born May 2, 1935, in New Madrid County, son of the late Troy E. Borders and Mary Myrtle Marlin, he had lived in Fisk before moving to Poplar Bluff. He had worked as a hat dipper at the Paramount Hat Wear company and attended the Star Community Church near Fisk. He served in the U.S. Army.
On May 13,1962, in Neelyville, he married Annabelle Aileen Hagy, who preceded him in death on Nov. 17, 2000.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Borders of Dexter and Malinda Willard of
Bloomfield; two sons, Johnny Borders of Fisk and Troy Borders of Battle Creek,
Mich.; three brothers, Robert Borders of Poplar Bluff, Graydon Marlin of Worth, Ill., and Jesse Borders of St. Charles; two sisters, Juanita Almond of Flint and Wanda Melton of Poplar Bluff; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ellis Sanford Marlin; one sister Violet Whitworth; and one infant brother.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Scott Wilkerson of Poplar Bluff officiating.
Burial will follow in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter.
