KEWANEE, Mo. — J.R. Blankenship passed away at his home in Kewanee at the age of 75 years.

He was born March 26, 1944, in Sikeston, son of the late Jay and Weba Ross Blankenship.

J.R. was a farmer until his retirement in 2009 due to health problems.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his many friends. Most of all, he loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Kewanee Methodist Church where he held many offices. When the church closed, his membership was moved to the New Madrid Methodist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Judy Blankenship of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Lori Blankenship of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Tonja and Danny Feingold of Tenalfy, N.J.; one sister, Lura Jones of Kewanee; and five grandchildren, Claire Blankenship of Shelbina, Juda LaValle of Philadelphia and Ethan Feingold, Noa Feingold and Lily Feingold of Tenafly; and great-grandchildren, Mason and Aaleigha Milbourn of Shelbina.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Friday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid with the Rev. Bob McQueen officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories at Sikeston.
