HAYWOOD CITY, Mo. — JReece ''Jerry'' Johnson, 60, died April 16, 2019, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Born Aug. 9, 1958, in Philadelphia, Miss., son of the late Rev. Roosevelt Johnson and Helen Brown Johnson, he was a 1977 graduate of Scott County Central High School. He was employed by the Missouri Highway Department for 39 years before retiring, and he had worked part-time at Wal-Mart in Sikeston since 2000. HAYWOOD CITY, Mo. — JReece ''Jerry'' Johnson, 60, died April 16, 2019, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Aug. 9, 1958, in Philadelphia, Miss., son of the late Rev. Roosevelt Johnson and Helen Brown Johnson, he was a 1977 graduate of Scott County Central High School. He was employed by the Missouri Highway Department for 39 years before retiring, and he had worked part-time at Wal-Mart in Sikeston since 2000. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Harmony 40 of Cape Girardeau.

On July 25, 1981, he married Cora Owens, and she survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: five sons, JReece Johnson Jr. of Haywood City, Caleb Johnson of Cape Girardeau, Antonio Johnson of Charleston, Stewart Johnson of Sikeston and Antwoin Johnson of Marion, Ill.; three brothers, James Johnson of Sikeston, Melvin Johnson of Bell City and the Rev. Paul Johnson of Haywood City; four sisters, Rosemary Owens of Sikeston, the Rev. Bridgett Williams of East Prairie, Silvia Ellis of Cape Girardeau and Pam Gillespie of Charleston; two uncles, Jimmy D. Brown of Haywood City and the Rev. Cleveland Jamison of Freeport, Ill.; two aunts, Dorothy Brown of Haywood City and Barbara Brown of Sikeston; and 17 grand children and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation is from noon until service time at 2 p.m. Sunday at Greers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Paul Johnson, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery at Morley with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
