Two men face charges for firing guns in Sikeston

SIKESTON — Two Sikeston men face charges for their alleged involvement in firing gun shots Tuesday in Sikeston.

Darrion Wells is charged with felony unlawful possession of a firearm, felony resisting/interfering with arrest for a felony and misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon by discharging along a highway, according to online court records.

Dmitri T. Granger is charged with misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon by discharging along a highway, court records said.

At 7:51 p.m. Tuesday officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to the 400 block of Kendall after another officer heard three gunshots fired in that area, according to Capt. Austin Henley with DPS. Upon their arrival, officers were able to locate and make contact with two people — who were later identified as Granger and Wells — in the area. While police were talking to Granger, Wells fled on foot, and a foot pursuit ensued. Officers were able to take Wells into custody a short time later. Wells was also found to be in possession of a gun magazine, and he had a warrant out for his arrest.

Granger’s bond was set at $3,500 cash or surety, and is not to have any weapons or contact with Wells.

Wells’ bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety, and he is also not to have any firearms or contact with Granger.
