Betty Eastman
CHARLESTON, Mo. — Betty LaVerne Eastman, 82, died May 7, 2019, at Westfield Nursing Center near Sikeston.
Born Sept. 7, 1936, in Sassafras Ridge in Mississippi County, to the late Leondas and Olivia Irene Bell Allen, she owned and operated Eastman Decorating. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Charleston.
On June 26, 1954, she married Duane Eastman, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2006.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Mark Adams of St. Charles; and three sisters, Bonnie and Norman Woods of Sikeston, Judy McCann of Sikeston and Joyce and Gus Baltrusaitis of East Prairie; and six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Kent Eastman and Barry Eastman; and one brother, Bobby Allen.
Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until service time at 4 p.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Bro. George Nite, pastor of First Baptist Church in Charleston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
