Mike Marshall, president and CEO, Sikeston Regional Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development, spoke at the most recent Greater Delta Region Conference of the Delta Grassroots Caucus April 25 and 26. Marshall presented current information on future Interstate 57, Sikeston’s new certified industrial site and federal opportunity zones. Marcie Lawson, executive director, Sikeston Regional Chamber of Commerce, also spoke at the meeting on workforce development. This regional meeting was held on Arkansas State University’s Mid-South campus in West Memphis, Ark.  Other presenters included Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, Rex Nelson, senior editor, Arkansas Democrat Gazette, and Rodney Slater, partner, Squire Patton Boggs, L.L.C. and former U.S. Secretary of Transportation under President Bill Clinton.
