Next time you need a service job done on your vehicle, stop by and let Dub Little and his crew assist you. Although he has been open for over a month, the Portageville Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony at the new business on Wednesday.

“This is the building that Ardin Simmons had his business in for many years. We plan to continue on with his type of service as he did, except for the gasoline,” said owner Bill (Dub) Little. One of the features is the old bench in front of his office. It came from his mother and fathers house. When his grandparents moved to Missouri from Tennessee, this was in their cabin when they got there. Little thinks the cabin may have been used as a hospital back during the Civil War days, but not sure. Either way, it is an old and sturdy piece. If it could talk, imagine the stories it could tell. No doubt, more stories will be added to it.

“This is a new start for me. I was raised on the farm and worked in construction for 50 years, moved to California and later to Oklahoma when I retired nearly 15 years ago. Been busier now since I retired. I had not fought about this until Peggy Simmons mentioned doing this and sounded like a good idea,” added Little.

The Bulldog Lube and Tire offers car washings and detailing, new and used tires, oil changes band transmission work, struts, and shocks replacements. Little has three employees working with him. Michael Wigfall Jelks, Lonnie Grogan, and Blake Hunt.

“I am proud to be here and have a good location for business. More importantly, there are a lot of good folks in this town. a good place to have a business,” said Little.
