CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Nelda Dalton Crader, 84, died June 11, 2019, in Cape Girardeau.

Born on Jan. 18, 1935, daughter of the late Leonard and Nelle Rhodes Dalton, she was a graduate of Delta High School and attended the University of Missouri in Columbia. She had worked as a school teacher in a one-room classroom in Allenville. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in education from Southeast Missouri State University and taught fourth grade at Chaffee; she retired after 32 years of teaching. She was a member of the Methodist church and Eastern Star, achieving a 50-plus-year membership. She also attended Church of God in Jackson and was a member of Oak Ridge Homemakers.

On Jan. 21, 1955, she married Jack Crader, who preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2014.

Survivors include: son, Kevin (Linda) Crader of Jackson; two daughters, Kim (Mike) Begley of Arbor and Brandi (Dave) Farris of Jefferson City; one sister, Suda Crawford; two brothers, Max Dalton and Wayne Dalton; and three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mariesa Lesch; her siblings, Glenda Schuh, Bill Dalton and Darris Dalton; and two grandsons.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday.

Burial will follow in the Hitt Cemetery at Arbor.
