MOREHOUSE, Mo. - William F. “JR” Day, 81, died June 18, 2019, at his home in Morehouse.
Born April 23, 1938, in Holcomb, son of the late William and Bell Dickerson Day Sr. He attended the General Baptist Church at Morehouse and had worked for Brown Construction at Dexter before retiring.
On Nov. 3, 1979, at Morehouse, he married Marie Duke; she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Dale and Linda Day of Morehouse and Melton and Lisa Day of Clarkton; two daughters, Debbie Morris of Sikeston and Carol Hughes of Cabot, Ark.; and 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, June Cowart; one brother, Homer Day; and three sisters, Flora Harvell, Juanita Davidson and Mary Thornberry.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.The Rev. Derick Gouldman will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Pete Leija, Homer Day, Chad Hill, James Vent, Chaz Boyer and Levi Thornberry.
