LILBOURN, Mo. — Donald Ray Townley, 79, died June 21, 2019, at his home in Lilbourn.

Born Nov. 18, 1939, in Alabama, son of the late Odell Ray and Rosie Blanche Davis Townley, he was a self-employed carpenter with his brother for many years before owning and operating Townley's Station and Car Wash.

On March 10, 1984, in Lilbourn, he married Debbie Strickland, and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include one son, Donald Ray Townley Jr. of Lilbourn; four sisters, Faye Alford of Bessimer, Ala., Shirley Miskell of Tennessee, Betty Wates of Winfield, Ala., and Pat Kinsey of Lilbourn; and one brother, Larry Townley of Lilbourn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Taylor, Doris Huff, and Inez Crowe.

Visitation was from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. June 25 at First Baptist Church in Lilbourn. The Rev. Travis Lambert, the pastor of First General Baptist Church Lilbourn, officiated.

Burial followed in the Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.

Ponder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
