OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. — Maxine Lemons Haney, 90, formerly of East Prairie, Mo., died July 31, 2019, at her daughter’s home in Ocean Springs.
Born Dec. 6, 1928, at Cooter, Mo., daughter of the late Robert Lemons and Pearl Davis Lemons, she had lived in East Prairie most of her life and had been employed several years with the Brown Shoe Co. at Charleston and CB Forms at East Prairie. She then worked at the East Prairie Nursing Center until she retired at 80.
On Feb. 13, 1947, she married Cecil Haney, who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2013.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Melinda Haney of East Prairie and Kenneth and Debbie Haney of Harrisburg, Ill.; one daughter, Betty Domonousky of Ocean Springs; her sisters, Mavis Lawrence of Red Bud, Ill., and JoAnn Simpkins of East Prairie; and five grandsons and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bill Domonousky; two brothers, Charles Lemons and Harold Lemons; one sister, Barbara Green; and one grandson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery. Martin Lucas of East Prairie will officiate. Burial will follow.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
