Playfair Weems

FULTON, Ky. — Playfair Weems, 83, formerly of East Prairie, Mo., died July 31, 2019, at her home in Fulton.

Born Nov. 7, 1935, in Malden, daughter of the late John and Lottie Root Chavers, she was a homemaker and of the Christian belief.

On Nov. 5, 1953, she married Bobby Joe Weems, who preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 2005.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Lee and Judy Weems of Arnold; two sisters, Delores Johnson and Judy Johnson of Fulton; two grandsons, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by three infant children; three brothers, Carroll Chavers, Bill Chavers and Jerry Chavers; and three sisters, Linda Chavers, Carrie Chavers and Peggy Johnson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Friday, at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Mike Cartwright. officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
