MINER, Mo. — A Sikeston man who was riding his bicycle to work died after being struck by a vehicle early Monday in Miner.

According to Miner Police Chief James Buckley, officers responded to the 2300 block of US Highway 62 shortly after 6:30 a.m. Monday in reference to a motor-vehicle accident involving a bicycle.

The bicyclist, Nathan Best, 39, of Sikeston was fatally injured in the accident, and his family has been notified, Buckley confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

“The driver of the motor vehicle was traveling east on US Highway 62 when the driver struck Best who was also traveling east,” Buckley said.

The identity of the driver is being withheld while the accident remains under investigation, Buckley said.
