SIKESTON — On July 5, Sikeston Walmart #9 presented the Sikeston Department of Public Safety a check for $3,200, through the Walmart Community Grant.

With the funding, Walmart #9 is supporting Sikeston DPS by adding four iPad Pros to Fire Division. With the addition of the iPad Pros, fire personnel will receive directions to calls for service, allow personnel the opportunity to acquire more effective incident pre planning, as well as allow for safer operations when on scene.

By receiving this grant, Sikeston DPS is part of a long history of Walmart’s commitment to giving back to the communities where they operate.

In fact, Mrs. Helen Walton used to say, “It’s not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.”

The Walmart Community Grant Program is a highly competitive program, receiving more than 150,000 applications each year, but Walmart and the Walmart Foundation are committed to providing opportunities for organizations to improve the communities they serve.
