Mary Hilton
EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Mary Ellen Wilson Hilton, 100, died Aug. 17, 2019, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Sept, 19, 1918, in Fancy Farm, Ky., to the late Aurther and Annie Mae Burgess, she worked for Mount Vernon Hospital as a nurse’s aide, the East Prairie R-2 schools as a grandmother and in the lunchroom at Anniston school. She was a member of the First Church of God in East Prairie.
On July 20, 1937, she married Woodrow Wilson, who preceded her in death on March 31, 1991.
Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Vickie Wilson of Bowling Green, Ky., Jerry and Brenda Wilson of East Prairie and Donnie Wilson and Michele Richardson of Portageville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Richard Ivie of Portageville, Ruby and Larry Smith of East Prairie, Helen and Bill Lewis of East Prairie and Madge and Freddy Daniels of Matthews; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Wilson; three brothers, Albert, Bill and Bert Burgess; and three sisters, Ruby Wilson, Sigel O’Neal and Catherine Thompson. Visitation was from 11 a.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. Aug. 19 at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Mark Helton officiating.
Burial followed in Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Jeremy Lewis, Lynn McEntire, Dylan Lingle, Tim Wilson, Danny Ivie, Mark McEntire, Michael Ivie, Rodney Ivie, Stanley Ivie, Jason Wilson and Anthony Wilson.
