Stephen Carlisle

BOLIVAR, Mo. — Stephen Michael Carlisle, 67, died Sept. 3, 2019, at Citizen's Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.

Born Aug. 31, 1952, in Cairo, Ill., son of Janie Payne of Camden, Tenn., and the late Andrew Carlisle, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran and had been employed with the United States Postal Service. He was of the Catholic belief.

On May 27, in Jackson,1988, he married Vickie Modlin, who preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 2019.

He is survived by one son, Jason Carlisle of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one daughter, Ashley (Gregg) Davies of Choctaw Co., Okla.; three stepdaughters, Monica Motes, Jackson, Cynthia (Mark) Brown of Farragut, Iowa, and Stephanie (Chris) Tucker, Crittenden, Ky.; one stepson, Carl Modlin of St. Joe; one brother, Charlie Carlisle of Bertrand; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Sept. 12 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston.  The Rev. David Dohogne will officiate.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
