Snack program launches

Warren E. Hearnes Elementary School launched its new afternoon snack program on Aug. 30. The newly-awarded USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) Grant is allowing Charleston educators to provide free afternoon snacks — fresh fruits and vegetables — to all elementary students, five days a week.
