BLOOMFIELD, Mo. — Artie Bowling Hatchel, 86, died Sept. 12, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Sept. 22, 1932, near Puxico, daughter of the late Everett Leland and Elizabeth (Peck) Scott, she had lived in the Bloomfield area all her life. She had worked at Elder's Manufacturing, the Hat Factory and Purolator Filter for 19 years. She was a member of the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico.
She was first married to William T. Bowling. He preceded her in death in 1969. She later married Terry Hatchell who also preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Sherri Bowling of Bloomfield, Tim and Kim Bowling of Chaffee, Kevin Bowling of Zalma; one daughter, Connie Franklin of Bloomfield; one daughter-in-law, Judy Bowling of Sturdivant; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Rod Bowling; two brothers, Everett Scott Jr., Norman “Doc” Scott; and two sisters, Erma Jean Bollinger and Mary Belle Fowler.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, where services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday with Jimmy Clark of Puxico officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield.
