Larry Vollertsen

SIKESTON - Larry E. Vollertsen, 67, died away Sept. 15, 2019, at his home in Sikeston.

Born Nov. 9, 1951 in St. Louis, Mo., son of the late Ervin Fritz Vollertsen and Leona Sophia Ruediger Vollertsen, he grew up in New Haven, Mo. and graduated from Webster University. He was an archivist at the St. Louis National Military Personnel Records Center and was a member of First Christian Church in Sikeston.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ruff Vollertsen; two daughters, Adrianne Vollertsen Gilbert of Louisiana and Amanda Vollertsen; one son, John (Paula) Vollertsen of Minnesota; one brother, Gary Vollertsen; one sister-in-law, Francis Vollertsen; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Vollertsen, James (Frances) Vollertsen, and Calvin Vollertsen; and two sisters, Alvirda Vollertsen and Laverne Vollertsen.

There will be a memorial potluck service at First Christian Church on Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. and graveside internment on Oct. 6, at 2 p.m.  at St. Peters UCC Cemetery in New Haven, Mo.
