Billie Woods

BERTRAND, Mo. — Billie V. Woods, 86, died Oct. 15, 2019, at Bertrand Nursing and Rehab Center in Bertrand.

Born April 1, 1933, in Sikeston, daughter of the late James E. and Kathleen Moran Brown, she was a member of Bement Baptist Church and had been a cook at Southeast Elementary School in Sikeston.

On Dec. 1, 1951, she married Ray Eugene Baker who preceded her in death. On June 6, 1976, she married W.T. Woods who preceded her in death on April 15, 2005.

Survivors include: one stepson and daughter-in-law, William E. (Bonnie) Woods of Columbia; three stepdaughters and one son-in-law, Jo Ann (Jim) Young of Bertrand, Marilyn Kavouras-Blanton of Elk Grove, Calif., and Connie Arnold of Scott City; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. The Rev. Darrin Hensley, pastor of Bement Baptist Church, will officiate.

Pallbearers will be: Bardis Dismuke III, Todd McClanahan, Jason Woods, Jacob Stinnet, Joshua Stinnet and Wyatt Jennings.
