Charleston man facing sexual assault charges

SIKESTON — A Charleston man faces multiple sexual assault charges in Scott County.

Lazingo Dee Washington, 30, of Charleston is charged with felony first degree kidnapping, first degree sodomy, two counts of second degree domestic assault and misdemeanor peace disturbance, according to online court records.

At 11:29 a.m. Tuesday at Sikeston Department of Public Safety headquarters, an officer met with an adult female who reported she had been sexually assaulted by a male, who was identified as Washington, according to Lt. Jon Broom with DPS.

Following an investigation, Washington was arrested and is being held in jail with no bond allowed.
