Effie Dodd

AQUILA, Mo. — Effie Dodd, 70, died Nov. 6, 2019, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born March 25, 1949, in Bell City, daughter of the late John Thomas Daniels and Birtha Miller Daniels, she was a former employee of Venture Products in Oran for many years.  She was also a former employee at Wal-Mart and a member of the Morley Baptist Church.

On Feb. 28, 1970, in Pop City, she married James Eugene Dodd, who preceded her in death on April 28, 2017.

Survivors include one son, James Dodd (Julie) of Bloomfield; two daughters, Kim Lafferty (Kip) of Aquila and Christy Dowdy (William) of Bloomfield; three brothers, Wesley Daniels of Oran, Terry Daniels of Cape Girardeau and Robert Daniels of Jackson; three sisters, Catherine Daniels of Oran, Shirley Pirtle of Randles and Birtha Griswell of Oran; and eight grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Luther, J.R., Wilburn, John Thomas and Sherman Daniels; and two sisters, Helen Cato and Alice Sauceda; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran with the Rev. Brian Gill Officiating.
