Aleene Wells

SIKESTON — Aleene Sara Wells, 89, died Nov. 12, 2019, at her home in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 14, 1930, in Malden, daughter of the late Edward Andrew Franklin Allen and Janie White Allen, she was a member of Smith Avenue Church of God.

On June 16, 1951, she married J.L. Wells; he preceded her in death on June 21, 1998.

Survivors include: one son, Kenneth Wayne "Kenny" Wells of Sikeston; and one sister, Shirley Means of Fenton.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Matthew Brooks and Rev. Ira Lee Sandefer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
