CHARLESTON, Mo. — Mildred Irene Reeves Burnett, 87, died Nov. 28, 2019, at her home in Charleston.
Born April 27, 1932, in Charleston, daughter of the late Oda Augusta and Mittie Lee Parker Reeves, she was of the Baptist belief and had attended the First Baptist Church in Charleston. In earlier years, she worked with Cub Scouts, Brownie Scouts and Girl Scouts.
On Oct. 11, 1952, she married Al Stotts Burnett, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by one son Al Stotts Burnett Jr.; five brothers, Odie Scott Reeves, James Marshall Reeves, Charles Franklin Reeves, Joseph Marvin Reeves and Byron Lee Reeves; and one sister, Frances Evelyn Reeves.
Survivors include: one son, Gary Stuart Burnett of Charleston, two daughters, Julie Ann (Charles) Wheland Jr. of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Helen Lee Hicks of Charleston; one sister; Donna Lois Reeves Morgan; and three grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. George Nite, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Private burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Gary Stotts Burnett, Stephen Hicks, Byron “Buddy” Reeves Jr., Byron Lee Reeves III, Matthew Butler and Gareth Stash.
