ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Paul Davis Watson Sr., age 89, passed away Jan. 6, 2020, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Feb. 21, 1930, in East Prairie, Missouri, the son of the late Charles and Ruth Barnhill Watson.

He was a member of Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and worked with experimental defense aircraft and in the space program at McDonnell-Douglas and Boeing before, retiring.

On June 22, 1968, at St. Louis, he married Virginia Shelby Watson; she survives of the home in St. Louis.

Other survivors include: one son, Paul Watson Jr. and daughter-in-law, Susan Hughes of Boulder, Colorado; one granddaughter, Anne Lutz Watson of Boulder; and two great-nephews, Ryan Kerner (Theresa), Ross Kerner (Mimi); and one great-niece Lindsey Byrne (Bryan).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.

There will be a memorial service held Friday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. at Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church, 9450 Clayton Road, St. Louis.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. at IOOF Cemetery in Charleston, Missouri.

Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Missouri will oversee arrangements.
