NEW MADRID, Mo. — The body of a missing Gideon, Mo., man was discovered during a search Saturday.
New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens reported the body of Gary K. Cagle Jr., 22, was discovered on a farm turn row, just across the county line in Stoddard County. Cagle was last heard from on Jan. 31 and his car located on Feb. 1 in a ditch on State Highway A in New Madrid County.
According to Stevens an organized search was conducted Saturday in an attempt to locate Cagle. An estimated 60 to 65 individuals, including members of the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, Jackson Rescue Squad, Sikeston Department of Public Safety, Morehouse Fire Department, Highway Patrol as well as family and friends, were involved in the search, which led to the discovery of the body.
