SIKESTON — Cynthia LaVerne Burrell-Redd, 47, died Feb. 8, 2020, at her home in Sikeston.
Born Oct. 26, 1972, in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of Earl and Nazareth Baker of Haywood City and the late Curtis Lee Burrell, she was a 1990 graduate of Scott County Central High School. She later attended Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Illinois, and was the general manager of Long John Silver’s and A&W in Sikeston.
Survivors include: one son, DeShonte Nabors of Sikeston; two daughters, DeShya Burrell and Chazeton Redd of Sikeston; one brother, Kurdis Burrell of South Dakota; two sisters, Yulonda Fisher of South Dakota and Dorla Jones of California; two stepsisters, Carol Clark of Florida and Brandy Finch of South Dakota; two stepdaughters, Latoya Henderson Fanner of Texas and KeRaje Lynn Redd of Missouri; a special friend, Wilbur Redd of Sikeston; and seven grandchildren and five nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Hosea Johnson and Rose Harris.
Visitation is from noon until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Morning Star Baptist Church in Haywood City where the Rev. Alex Sims is pastor. Elder Willie Franklin will officiate.
Burial will follow in the New Morning Star Cemetery in Haywood City with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
