Vernon Cline

SIKESTON — Harold Vernon "Sugar Man" Cline, age 79, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Nov. 4, 1940, in Sikeston, son of the late Ned and Zona Sanders Cline, he attended the First Church of the Nazarene and was employed by Harts and Lewis Brothers Bakery for over 27 years.

On May 28, 1960, he married Glenna Houchins; who preceded him in death on Jan. 9, 2002.

Survivors include: two daughters, Glenna Juanita (John) Moore and Roberta Ann (Paul) Swilley of Sikeston; one brother, Gene Cline of Sikeston; one sister, Catherine Widdows of Jefferson City, Mo.; Mo.; five grandchildren, Heather (Barry) Pinnell, Emily (Justin) Beaird, Jason Swilley, Colleen Swilley and Brandon Swilley; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Kaye Cline; and one brother, Jimmy Cline.

Services will be conducted at a later date.

Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
