Mississippi County Health Department to offer free COVID-19 testing to first 200 who sign up
CHARLESTON, Mo. — Mississippi County Health Department will test residents for COVID-19 Tuesday and Wednesday, but to the first 200 people who sign up online.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has provided Mississippi County with COVID-19 test kits to be able to use on Mississippi County residents, the health department announced Saturday.
These tests will be done from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 28 and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 29. The test site will be at the Old Galemore Motors building, 1010 E. Marshall St., in Charleston. These tests will be free to the first 200 people who sign up online at https://redcap.link/mocovidcctesting.
For those who do not have access to a computer or mobile phone, the Bowden Center and Susanna Wesley Family Learning Center will allow people to use their computer labs to sign up, if needed. Contact the Bowden Center at 233-4568, SWFLC Charleston 233-8391 or SWFLC EP 649-3731 to use a computer and they will offer assistance.
“When completing the online survey, you will be allowed to pick a time slot and be given a number. We will need that number when you come to the testing site. The testing site will be a drive thru so no one will have to get out of their vehicle,” the announcement said. “Please be aware that you will be ask to self quarantine until your test results come in which should be within 24 to 48 hours.”
