HAYWOOD CITY, Mo. — Estella Jones “Rabbit” Sharp, 82, died May 11, 2020, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

Born Feb. 2, 1938, in Shuqualak, Mississippi, to the late Harry and Lurean Hardin Jones Sr., she was of the Christian belief and member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City. She moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she worked at Shadex before returning to Haywood City. She was also a certified nurse’s assistant and had worked at many nursing home through the years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Frank Edward Henry, on March 6, 2019; three brothers, William Jones, Kenny Jones and Sammy Jones and eleven sisters, Susie Haney, Mary Glover, Caroline Jones, Rosie Lewis, Louise Wiley, Mary Alice Stevens, Inez Hunt, Ruthie Lee Townsend, Esther Jeffery, Alberta Thomas and Mattie Fort.

Survivors include: two brothers, Willie Jones of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Harry Jones of Lavergne, Tennessee; and a special niece, Rita Savage of Sikeston, Missouri.

A walk-through visitation will held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City. The family will then hold a private viewing from noon until time for the burial in the New Morning Star Cemetery in Haywood City with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
