Melba Bonds

MOREHOUSE, Mo. — Melba Joyce Davis Bonds, 83, died May 27, 2020, at her home in Morehouse. 

Born Dec. 30, 1936, at Peach Orchard, Mo., daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Davis and Sirlda Jane Stovall Davis, she had lived many years in Morehouse.

On Oct. 4, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., she married Tommy Bonds, who preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 2009.

Survivors include: one daughter, Joy Taylor of Morehouse; one son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Rhonda Bonds of Sikeston; and three grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, James “Jim” Taylor; two sisters, Violetta Reed and Louise Scott; and five brothers, Carter Davis, Lester Davis, Jacob Davis and Jerrel “Pete” Davis and Lloyd Davis.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston. Her nephew, Billy Davis, will officiate.

Burial will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
