BENTON, Mo. — Michael David Gray, 72, died May 26, 2020, at his home near Benton. Born Nov. 10, 1947, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., to the late G.B. Gray and Dorothy M. Davis Gray, he had lived many years near Benton and was of the Baptist belief. He worked in over-the-road trucking hauling new cars from St. Louis for many years until his retirement. BENTON, Mo. — Michael David Gray, 72, died May 26, 2020, at his home near Benton.

Born Nov. 10, 1947, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., to the late G.B. Gray and Dorothy M. Davis Gray, he had lived many years near Benton and was of the Baptist belief. He worked in over-the-road trucking hauling new cars from St. Louis for many years until his retirement. He was a U.S. Merchant Marine and U.S. Navy veteran.

On Sept. 4, 1980, he married Patty Ann Vaughn, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeff and Rachel of Sikeston and Kevin of Kansas City, Mo.,; one daughter, Rachel of Arizona; brothers and sisters, Blair Gray, Lane Gray and Patty Gray of Poplar Bluff and Sherry of Arkansas; and several grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Shannon Gray; and two brothers, Jerry Gray and Steve Gray.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. John McHaffie, pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery.
