Stoddard County has sixth death due to virus

Another resident of the Crowley Ridge Nursing Home in Dexter has died related to COVID-19.

According to the Stoddard County Public Health Center, at approximately 8 a.m. Thursday officials were notified of the death. It is the sixth resident of the nursing home to die from the outbreak.

The Stoddard County Public Health Center reported six new cases late Wednesday, giving the county 100 cases with 59 of those active. The new cases were not reported to be related to the nursing home outbreak as several cases have been linked to a wedding in the Malden area.

There have been 35 recoveries with five this week, including three in the nursing home. Two staff members and one resident have recovered as well as two residents outside of the nursing home.

The Scott County Health Department reported two new positive cases of COVID-19 Thursday, giving the county 115 with 28 of those active. Of the new cases, there is a male and female, one between the age of 40-49 and one between the age of 50-59.

There two more recoveries in Scott County Thursday, giving the county 77 recoveries with 10 deaths.

The Mississippi County Health Department is reporting 61 total COVID-19 positive confirmed cases. There are now 47 inmates at the Southeast Correctional Center in Charleston who have tested positive and 14 community members within Mississippi County. There have also been 19 staff members at SECC who have tested positive for COVID-19.

There are 21 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in New Madrid County. The New Madrid County Health Department reports five active cases and there has been one death in the county.

The Pemiscot County Health Department is reporting 89 positive cases with 12 active in Pemiscot County. One person is hospitalized and there have been five deaths while 72 have been released from isolation.

The Dunklin County Health Department is reporting 44 confirmed cases with 23 recovered and 19 active cases. There have been two deaths.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 290 new cases Thursday, giving Missouri 14,057 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 786 deaths.
