TEMPLE, Texas — Samuel Clifton “Sam” Perry, 79, died June 29, 2020, in Temple.
Born Oct. 28, 1940, son of the late Alford and Alberta White Perry in Crenshaw, Mississippi, he attended Bell City High School in Bell City, Missouri. He served and retired from the United States Army, receiving many medals and commendations. He worked for Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple for 20 years, retiring in 1982.
On Sept. 13, 1974, he married Anna Laverne Reed, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Conard and Israel Conard.
Survivors include: two sons, Michael Williams (Shelia) of Waco and Samuel Perry Jr. of Kentucky; four daughters, Beverly Morris (Kenneth) of Sikeston, Missouri, Gale Gossett (George) and Stephanie Graham both of Jacksonville, Florida, and Patricia Harris of Dallas; and 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Branford/Dawson Funeral Home in Temple, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with Dr. George Harrison Sr. officiating.
